The Western Junior College Athletic Conference has announced the Volleyball Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 22-28.
New Mexico Military Institute outside hitter Violetta Mendoza Quintana is the WJCAC Offensive Player of the Week.
The 5-8 sophomore from Chihuahua, Mexico had 57 kills last week (2.85 kills per set) allowing the Broncos to earn five match wins last week, including a road-win against 16th-ranked Odessa College. Quintana led NMMI in kills with 57, but the 'all-arounder' also had 71 digs, along with three set assists, six aces and a pair of block assists, helping NMMI move to 22-0 on the season.
Odessa College middle blocker Lyric Love and New Mexico Military Institute libero are the WJCAC Co-Defensive Players of the Week.
Love, a 6-0 freshman from Hawaii, had a great week at the net, tallying 20 blocks for the Lady Wranglers. She also added 2 digs and 5 kills.
Crisostomo, a 5-1 sophomore from Honolulu, HI, had 98 digs and 22 assists for the Broncos.
