| SEASON OUTLOOK |

| Coach Torrez is excited about the
Men’s Cross-Country team at Odessa College. The
men’s cross-country roster is comprised of
a nice mix of freshmen and sophomores. The
2009 Wranglers squad has a strong local flavor. Paredes,
Phillips, Ramos, and White were all part of a cross
country district championship at Odessa High. Transfer
Gabriel Gordy, a Permian High product, will bring
experience and leadership into his sophomore running
campaign. Expectations are high for State
qualifier A.J. Lozano of Stanton. Newcomer
Stephen Barraza is expected to contribute right
away. The men hope to challenge for one
of the top 3 spots in the conference/region. This
is a very ambitious goal considering 3 teams (South
Plains, El Paso, and Western Texas) are ranked
in the top 25 in the nation. The Regional
meet will be held in Roswell, NM on October 31st. |
