An Odessa College Rodeo team member has claimed the Canadian Finals Rodeo Championship.  

Tanner Girletz, 20, a native of Alberta, Canada, won almost $42,000 and a new pickup.  Girletz comes from good stock – Hid grandfather won the Canadian Finals Rodeo five times, and his dad and uncles all ride.  The OC bull rider competed in six rounds.  He was bucked off in the first round: placed fourth in the second; first in the third; second in the fourth; fourth in the fifth; and first place in the sixth round—making him the overall winner of the event.
