| Coach Torrez is excited about the Women’s Cross-Country team at Odessa College. This is the second season for Odessa College to field a women’s cross country team. Noel Garcia and LeighAnna Kruger are the only returners from last year’s campaign. There are 5 freshmen who will be competing for OC this fall. First year runners Vanessa Elizondo, Margarita Pequeno, and Lauren Schwebach are all expected to lead this year’s squad. Elizondo was a regional qualifier multiple years in high school. Pequeno was a state qualifier as a junior at McCamey. Schwebach ran on one of the top teams in the state of New Mexico. The women expect to challenge conference foes and national powers South Plains College and El Paso Community College at the WJCAC/Region V meet that will be held in Hobbs, NM on October 25th. |
