Softball Set to Host Southwest District A Championship
The Wrangler Softball Complex will host the 2025 NJCAA D1 Southwest District A Championship May 7th through the 9th.
2025 marks the first year a true Region 5 post-season tournament will be played in softball. The top team from both the Western Junior College Athletic Conference and the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference will host a four team District Championship.
The winner at both sites will receive an automatic bid to the 2025 NJCAA D1 Softball World Series in Yuma, AZ.
This year, Region 5 has had five teams ranked in the NJCAA D1 Softball Poll for nearly the entire season. (Last poll #2 McLennan, #5 Grayson, #7 Odessa, #12 Temple, and #20 Weatherford)
The top four teams in the final conference standings in WJCAC and the NTJCAC will qualify for the post-season.
Odessa having won the WJCAC regular season title (record) will be the #1 seed and host three other teams from Region 5, #2 seed Grayson College (NTJCAC) #3 seed Western TX (WTJCAC) and #4 seed Weatherford College (NTJCAC).
Play gets underway on Wednesday at noon when Odessa takes on Weatherford followed by Grayson and Western TX at approximately 2:30pm.
The double-elimination tournament will run from Wednesday through Friday at the Wrangler Softball Complex.

Tickets:
Tickets will be on sale at the gate each day and gates will open one hour prior to the first game of the day. An All-Tournament pass can be purchased for $25.00. Daily ticket prices will be $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Seniors and School Age Children.
