Softball Sweeps WJCAC Opening Weekend

The Wrangler Softball Team openend Western Junior College Athletic Conference play this past weekend at the Wrangler Softball Complex.  Odessa swept the weekend winning two games on Friday vs. Frank Phillips and picked up two more victories on Saturday vs. Clarendon.  Three of the four victories came via run-rule.  

On Friday, OC defeated FPC 8-0 in game one, and won game two on a walk-off bases loaded two RBI double from Alyssa Gillen to win 6-5.  On Saturday, the Wranglers contiuned their winning ways picking up two more victories 12-0 & 10-0 over Clarendon College.  In game 1, pitcher Aydenne Brown threw a perfect game no hit shut out, striking out nine of the 15 batters she faced.  She did not allow a hit the entire game and no Clarendon hitter reached 1st base.  Game tw starter, Fadwa Ben Karim picked right up where Brown left off, throwing a complete game shut out.  

The Wranglers will contiune WJCAC play this coming weekend as they travel to Snyder, TX on Friday to take on Western Texas and then to Big Spring, TX on Saturday to play Howard.  Both Friday and Saturday's games will be double-headers.
