Softball Sweeps Midland in Four Game Series

Jaycie Pacheco stepped up to the plate with Odessa College facing two outs with a runner on base and tied at 6-6 in game two against Midland College.

The freshman wouldn't disappoint.

Pacheco would single into center field for the walkoff victory, scoring Kayla Hernandez in game two as the Lady Wranglers took the doubleheader, winning both games by scores of 6-4 and 7-6 Thursday at Wrangler Softball Complex.

The No. 9-ranked Odessa College softball team finished off rivals Midland College, winning Friday's doubleheader by scores of 8-3 and 11-3 on the road.

With the wins, the Lady Wranglers got the sweep and improved to 35-4 overall, 16-0 in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play.

Midland College fell to 37-8, 10-4.

With the series sweep, Odessa College remains at the top of the WJCAC standings.

Next up for the Wranglers will be a four-game series against Howard College beginning with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wrangler Softball Complex.
