Mohammed El Youssfi and Milicent Wafula were awarded NJCAA Post-Season and Regional Awards by the US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.
Postseason awards for the 2025 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), following the conclusion of the 2025 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held this past weekend in Hutchinson, Kansas.
NJCAA MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Mohammed El Youssfi was named the National Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the 2025 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season. El Youssfi, who hails from Morocco, swept the 5000 and 10,000 meters in dominant fashion at the 2025 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. After missing most of the outdoor season with injury, he won the 10,000 on Thursday evening, bolting to an early lead and running alone to break a 38-year-old NJCAA record in 28:32.04 while winning by more than a minute. He returned two days later to claim the 5000 in 13:56.82, breaking the meet record by nearly 10 seconds in winning by over 18 seconds while becoming No. 3 all-time in NJCAA history.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR:
WEST REGION – Milicent Wafula – Odessa (Texas)
Wafula is ranked first nationally in the 1500 meters at 4:23.63, which puts her third on the NJCAA all-time chart. She is also ranked among the top-three national athletes in both the 800 meters and 5000 meters. Her 5000-meter mark is most impressive, coming in at 16:27.64 and cements her status as the No. 4 performer in NJCAA history.
